North Cowichan has created an Accessibility Plan. This plan provides actions that identify, remove, and prevent barriers to people accessing North Cowichan facilities, programs, and services.

You can help by reviewing the plan and letting us know if we missed anything.

In June 2023, the Accessibility Action Committee began meeting. The committee will review the accessibility needs assessment and help develop the action plan. Key stakeholders will be engaged through conversations with staff and their input considered for the draft plan.

North Cowichan is also surveying staff to learn about barriers they have encountered in municipal workplaces.

Following public input in the fall, a report to Council will outline the assessment needs and priorities for the action plan.
